Sunset Beach Surfside Properties
Located just North of Sunset Beach on the Orange County/Los Angeles County border in Southern California, Surfside is a guard-gated community of several hundred homes, townhouses and condominiums, with oceanfront views of the Pacific. Surfside's central location between LA and OC provides easy access to the 405, 5, 55, 22 and 605 freeways for commuting to work. Surfside Colony provides big city amenities with a small California beach town atmosphere. Attractions of Southern California are within a short drive as are world-class shopping, dining and entertainment. . The real estate market in Surfside, CA offers home buyers choices of single family detached homes for sale, beachfront condos, land lots and properties for custom home building. Surfside has approximately 255 houses. (Note that this is an accurate count, though it is considerably greater than reported in the 2000 census.) Some homes are occupied seasonally or less than full-time. Some homes have been in families for as many as four generations.
Surfside (or Surfside Colony) is a small gated community with three rows of houses, lettered A, B, and C. Surfside is just south of Seal Beach, California and is located on the west side of Pacific Coast Highway, southwest of the Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach between the station and the unincorporated Orange County, California community of Sunset Beach. It is also near the Huntington Beach community of Huntington Harbour. The southern entrance to the Surfside Colony is easy to spot by the water tower (which was built into a house) that can be seen from Pacific Coast Highway. The first homes in Surfside were small beach cottages. In 1929, these homes sold for as little as $700.Today, even most of the smallest homes in Surfside are valued at over $1 million because of the value of oceanfront lots. Some homes have been valued at over $5 million. In general, A Row houses are the most highly priced as they have unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean extending all the way to Santa Catalina Island and sit directly on the beach |
