Huntington Beach is located on the  North Side of Orange County in the greater Los Angeles area of Southern California. Huntington Beach is best known as "Surf City " because it is the site of world surfing championship competitions "US Open &  the OP Pro" It has been rated one of the top ten safest cities in the United States, in relation to crime. The city is also known for its Fourth of July Day parade which attracts visitors from neighboring cities and is a favorite event among residents. Downtown Developmental Projects : Pacific City and The Strand

Pacific City, a 31-acre project, will feature restaurants, entertainment, retail, offices and residential areas. Developer Makar Properties is working on underground parking structures and seeking approval for the residential portion. The retail and office spaces should be completed by fall 2009 and a 165-room hotel in spring 2009. Homes should be available in 2009.

The Strand, headed by CIM Group, will feature 102,000 square feet of retail, restaurants and entertainment, and a 140-room hotel. The project is set for completion in Fall 2008. The first restaurant tenant, RA Sushi, is going through the city's approval process.
